EXPERIENCES


At House in the Wild we want our guests to enjoy the safari of their dreams, alongside experiencing what life is really like in the Mara.

 

This is a safari for your senses, and we put alot of care into how you experience every element of your stay, from the sustainably sourced food and drinks, the settings and the activities on offer.​

House in the Wild offers incredible game-driving through Enonkishu, Lemek and Ol Chorro Conservancies, in exclusive use vehicles.   

 

Aside from game driving, there are always interesting activities going on, to be done at your own pace in your own time....

​INCLUDED

  • Game drives in the Northern Mara Conservancies, in an exclusive use, open sided safari car.

  • Sundowners on the edge of the hill, watching the sky change colour and the sun set over the plains, with a gin and tonic in hand.

  • Bush Breakfasts after a morning game drive.

  • Guided Walks within Naretoi identifying tracks and spoor and of stretching the legs, recommended going out for 1 or 2 hours.

  • Tennis

  • Local School Visits – why not pack a few extra pens, pencils, footballs or things you might be looking to throw away and we can donate these to the local school children of the Emarti Village. 

  • Go fishing in the Mara River – have a go after a morning game drive or over sunset on the edge of the Mara River fishing for catfish.  If you catch it, take a picture and release it!

  • Garden games – croquet, garden boules, rugby balls, board games.

  • Visit the Mara Training Centre and learn about the inspiring conservation work, do some beading with the women from the area, learn about our soap and candle making.

  • Visit the Wild Shamba and the indigenous tree nursery and spend a morning planting trees, fly home guilt free about your carbon footprint!

EXCLUDED

  • Enjoy a relaxing massage, soft, medium or deep tissue using locally grown essential oils. 

  • Visits to the Rhino Sanctuary guests are able to walk with the rhino, while being protected by armed rangers. 

  • Photoshoots on the plains.

  • Camera hire and photography lessons.

  • Visit the Mara Elephant Project and learn about the incredible work that is done to reduce human - wildlife conflict and protect the elephants of the Maasai Mara 

  • Have a scenic helicopter flight over the plains and along the Mara River. 

  • Spend an hour or two at the local Maasai Village, learning about how their huts are made, how to make fire with only a couple of twigs, listen to the mammas sing and meet the children.  Have a look at some of their handmade beaded items of jewellery or buy something to take home!

  • Balloon Safari’s - wake up at dawn and float over the wildlife and the Maasai Mara – a once in a life time opportunity.
